Who Is Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ? Part - 6. How Knowing Allah Transforms Your Life and Relationship With Him

Knowledge is powerful.

It shapes how we think, how we make decisions, and how we view the world around us.

But not all knowledge affects us in the same way.

A person may spend years studying history, science, business, or philosophy, yet remain unchanged at the deepest level. Such knowledge may expand the mind, but it does not necessarily transform the heart.

The knowledge of Allah (The One True God, Worthy of All Worship) is different.

It is not merely information to be learned. It is a reality to be lived.

The more a person truly knows Allah, the more every aspect of life begins to change—how they view success and failure, happiness and hardship, themselves and others, this world and the next.

This is why the greatest scholars of Islam did not consider the knowledge of Allah to be just another branch of learning. They regarded it as the most noble and transformative knowledge a human being can ever acquire.

From Knowing About Allah to Truly Knowing Allah

There is a difference between knowing about someone and truly knowing them.

Many people know facts about Allah.

They know that He is the Creator.

They know that He is Merciful.

They know that He is All-Knowing.

Yet these truths often remain confined to the mind rather than reaching the heart.

True knowledge of Allah goes beyond memorization and intellectual understanding.

It is when the heart begins to feel the reality behind those truths.

When you truly understand that Allah is Ar-Razzaq (The Provider), your anxiety about provision begins to lessen.

When you truly understand that Allah is Al-Hakim (The Most Wise), you find peace even when life unfolds differently than you planned.

When you truly understand that Allah is As-Sami' (The All-Hearing), you realize that no prayer, no cry, and no whisper goes unheard.

When you truly understand that Allah is Al-Ghaffar (The Constantly Forgiving), despair gives way to hope.

Knowledge then becomes transformation.

A New Perspective on Life's Challenges

One of the greatest gifts of knowing Allah is that it changes how we interpret difficulties.

Without faith, hardships often appear meaningless.

Pain seems random.

Loss feels unbearable.

Trials appear unjust.

But when a person knows Allah, they understand that every event occurs under the care of a Lord who is infinitely wise, merciful, and knowledgeable.

This does not mean suffering becomes easy.

It means suffering becomes meaningful.

The believer understands that Allah sees what they cannot see.

He knows what they do not know.

He understands the future while they only see the present.

Many times, what initially appears to be a setback becomes the doorway to growth, wisdom, and blessings that could not have been achieved otherwise.

The Quran reminds us:

"Perhaps you dislike something while it is good for you, and perhaps you love something while it is bad for you. Allah knows, and you do not know."

(Quran 2:216)

Knowing Allah allows the heart to trust even when it does not fully understand.

Freedom From Constant Anxiety

Modern life is filled with worry.

People worry about money.

They worry about health.

They worry about their future, their careers, their relationships, and their place in the world.

Many carry burdens that never leave their minds.

Yet one of the fruits of knowing Allah is a profound sense of inner security.

This does not mean believers never feel fear or stress.

Even the Prophets experienced moments of concern.

However, they possessed something greater than fear: trust in Allah.

When a person knows that Allah controls every affair, hears every prayer, and never neglects His servants, they begin to experience a peace that worldly circumstances alone cannot provide.

The heart gradually learns to say:

"I will do my best, and I will leave the outcome with Allah."

This is not passivity.

It is trust.

And trust is one of the greatest sources of emotional and spiritual strength.

A Deeper Appreciation of Blessings

One of the tragedies of human nature is that we often become accustomed to our blessings.

We notice what we lack more easily than what we possess.

But knowing Allah changes this perspective.

When a believer understands that every blessing comes from Allah, gratitude becomes a natural part of life.

A glass of water is no longer ordinary.

A healthy body is no longer taken for granted.

A loving family becomes a gift rather than an expectation.

Even the ability to breathe, think, learn, and worship begins to feel extraordinary.

The more we know Allah, the more we recognize His generosity.

And the more we recognize His generosity, the more grateful we become.

A Stronger Connection Through Worship

Many people struggle with worship because it becomes routine.

Prayers are performed mechanically.

Supplications are repeated without reflection.

Acts of worship feel like obligations rather than opportunities.

But when a person truly knows Allah, worship takes on a completely different meaning.

Prayer becomes a conversation with the One who knows them better than they know themselves.

Dua becomes a direct appeal to the One whose mercy has no limits.

Reciting the Quran becomes an encounter with the words of the Creator.

Acts of worship stop feeling like burdens and begin feeling like privileges.

The more we know Allah, the more naturally we desire to draw closer to Him.

Loving Allah More Than Anything Else

Every human heart is searching for something.

People seek happiness through wealth, status, relationships, achievements, and experiences.

Yet no created thing can fully satisfy the deepest needs of the soul.

Why?

Because the heart was created to know and love its Creator.

The more a person learns about Allah's mercy, wisdom, generosity, forgiveness, and love, the more their attachment to Him grows.

This love becomes a source of strength during hardship.

A source of gratitude during ease.

A source of hope after mistakes.

And a source of purpose throughout life.

The believer begins to realize that every blessing they love ultimately comes from Allah.

And if the gifts are so beautiful, what can be said about the Giver?

The Beginning of a Lifelong Journey

Knowing Allah is not a destination that a person reaches and completes.

It is a lifelong journey.

No matter how much we learn, there will always be more to discover about His greatness, wisdom, mercy, and perfection.

Every prayer can deepen that relationship.

Every verse of the Quran can strengthen it.

Every moment of reflection can bring the heart closer to Him.

The scholars of Islam often said that the greatest delight in this world is knowing Allah, and the greatest delight in the Hereafter will be meeting Him.

This is because the heart was created for this purpose.

To know Him.

To love Him.

To worship Him.

To trust Him.

And ultimately, to return to Him.

The more deeply a person knows Allah, the more meaningful life becomes, the more resilient they become in hardship, and the more peaceful they become in their journey through this world.

For in knowing Allah, a person discovers not only who their Creator is, but also who they themselves were always meant to be.
